Simplicity and economy material expressed through architectural detail

Zero a Associates Architects presented at a conference held at the Universidad San Sebastian, by the Lecture Series of the second half of 2010. The office is composed of Christian architects and Paul Saric Winckler, both from the University Felipe Fritz Central University of Chile, highlighting their approach to construction details, becoming a type of architecture detail.

This office uses the concept of design strategy that draws on the book "Metapolis" which is a dictionary of advanced architecture. The term strategy is addressed as a logical hierarchical projecting informed that responds to the most relevant data.

On to work based its statement of his most important works on the basis of a strategy and a tactic, which speaks of a predetermined order, careful planning, and implementation and project development.

Since we will expose the most important works in the exhibition:

1. Memorial Jaime Guzmán (2003), a project which get a mention. Housed in a home in the Plaza Italia in Santiago, a meeting place for celebrations and protests, before being relocated in the commune of Vitacura. The work speaks of creating a platform for public events by adding a multipurpose gallery.

2. Santa Pizza Restaurant (2006), work is located in the Boulevard Parque Arauco, Las Condes. Where the intention was to create a continuity of material through the fold of the same, this is where the wood resource used, talks about finding affordable does not like something mean, in contrast, manages to communicate an atmosphere that transcends beyond from a simple gesture continued through the wooden slats.

3. Amanda Cultural Center (2008), work is located in the commune of Vitacura. In which from the rescheduling of an old cinema is able to create a multipurpose space, adorned with a sea bar takes center stage when exposed as a big movie screen.

4. Casa O (2009), single family dwelling located in the La Reserve Chicureo Hill commune. Work that takes the strategy of propagating through space from terraces, thereby creating different levels of balconies that allow contact between inside and outside the home, which in turn is topped with a translucent skin from succession of slats.

5. Mercat Restaurant (2007), work on Avenida Nueva Costanera, Vitacura. In this draft strategy is guided by a visual continuity given by transparent tape which gives the facade a simple material through steel beams.
